Apocalypse World: Overgrowth

Forward Momentum

-The scene opens with Sorrow getting jumped by the Raiders. Sorrow is beaten, but e reaches into the mind of Krunk, forcing her to back off before the beating becomes to severe.
-Time jumps 4 days, during which time Hide sleeps with Mumps
-Setter, still recovering, asks Clutch (through the raiders) for medical supplies. The call is answered by an Elite guard.
-At the first Market Day, Sorrow and Winkle roam the sales tents. At one point, Mumps approaches, goading Sorrow and greeting Winkle.
-In Hide’s fashion display, Mumps requests a product and Tao approaches with a gift of fine stones. Hide rejects the gift at the time, offering instead for Tao return later that evening.
-Sorrow and Hide speak, and Sorrow offers Hide to visit eir that evening.
-Sorrow then goes after Mumps, seducing him into an ally way and then implanting the command within his mind to kill Krunk.
-Amidst the heat of the Market, Rothschild disappears.
-Setter goes to Clutch before the Toys R’ Us mission. Clutch asks Setter to spy on Krunk, and Setter agrees
-The Raiders head to Toys R’ Us, during which time Setter figures out that Krunk is looking to close ranks against Clutch, and is also bitten by an unknown insect
-Back at Sorrow’s tent, Winkle reveals that she has worm-rot. Sorrow takes Winkle to Clutch, who dismisses her condition and says he can’t help.
-Tao shows up at Hide’s, only for Sorrow to show up shortly later for their date. Hide, in a panic, rushes Tao out of the door, but only after agreeing to his condition of his taking a key to Hide’s him with him.
-Sorrow and Hide converse, and Sorrow asks how the two can become friends. Hide answers “with gifts”
-Setter and the Raiders take Toys R’ Us, but lose several men in the fire fight. They discover, in addition to the medical pavilion, a large unknown machine originally guarded by black robed brainers.
-Upon returning, the Raiders host a mourning celebration for their fallen comrades. During the drinking, a feverish Mumps enters the bar and attempts to shoot Krunk. He is quickly shot dead, but Setter’s attempt to assist the assassination is almost seen by Krunk, leading to a stare-down between the two – guns drawn.
-Inspired by her near death, Krunk leads the raiders to take over the bar, declaring her and her people the “Sovereigns.” Setter is asked as to his loyalty. Upon responding with a vote of neutrality, he is locked down in the medical pavilion as a prisoner.
-At Sorrow’s tent, Sorrow seeks the location of Fig in the Maelstrom, but is offered only Fig’s captor, one of the Mad Hatters. Winkle addresses Sorrow’s visions, and the two discuss the Maelstrom briefly. Winkle makes advances on Sorrow, and when turned away, she lashes out psychically at eir.
-Winkle flees Sorrow’s tent, and Sorrow follows. Hide see’s Sorrow grab hold of Winkle and begin dragger her back to the tent. E interveins, grabbing Sorrow and demanding that E let Winkle go. In the struggle, Winkle lets out a deafening psychic shout, stunning the two. In their stupor, Winkle runs headlong into the woods. Hide and Sorrow soon come to themselves and pursue.

A Diamond in the Ruff

-Setter finds Mumps in the Black Hole Bar, hamming it up with a local. He calls in his favor for treating the man’s flesh-worms, asking for an audience with Visage, the Pilgrim’s leader.
-After leaving the bar, Setter is approached by one of Clutch’s Elites, and the two head to the Hardholder’s home.
-In Clutch’s Museum, Clutch tells Setter that he feels the two have grown distant, and offers him a place in his home to establish a medical station.
-Sorrow walks in on Mumps and Winkle having sex, and ragefully banishes Mumps
-Sorrow calls a meeting with Visage, offering Yellow in exchange for finding the person who stole Sorrow’s supplies
-Hide, the skinner, showcases Hide’s goods at the Black Hole.
-Rothschild, one of Hide’s models, talks to Sorrow about Hide’s patron – Sorrow quickly shuts him down
-Clutch shows up to Hide’s showcasing, and asks for Hide’s services. The two solidify a deal.
-Setter goes to offer Visage and his people the stolen yellow, but the group turns on him to offer to Sorrow. Setter escapes with a gunshot wound.
-Sorrow is informed of Setter’s theft, and conducts a Yellow ritual with the Pilgrims that quickly gets out of control. Fig, a distillery technician, goes missing.
-Hide is approached by Tao, Hide’s patron, and the two share a tense evening of company.
-Later, Wisher (another of Hide’s models), mentions of handedly to Hide of Hide’s patron, to which Hide quickly and aggressively responds, telling Wisher to shut her mouth and taking Wisher’s good for a time
-Sorrow goes to see Setter, currently bedridden from the gunshot, and in a fit of anger reaches out and damages Setter with their mind.
-Later, the S-Mart raiders find Setter, and upon hearing that Sorrow had inflicted Setter’s condition, proceed to find Sorrow

Session 1: Introductions
The first session

-Open S-Mart, trade hub nestled in the overgrown apocalyptica, aptly placed between various compounds in the area
-Enter Setter, the Angel, as he attempts to purge flesh-worms from a traveling pilgrim
-Enter Sorrow, the cat-wielding cult leader, who provides “yellow” for Sorrow’s people
-Recall Winkle, Sorrow’s adopted family member, who kissed Setter in secret from Sorrow
-On a raid, Setter shows his aptitude by defending the escape car from a armed young man
-In the settlement, Sorrow shares Yellow with the pilgrims, drawing their attention. A larger ritual is planned for later that night.
-Later, Setter speaks with Krunk, the raid leader, who shares her interest in adopting Setter into the raider’s fold in exchange for a medical stockpile. Setter asks for an alternative exchange, which Krunk says must be at least three others.
-Sorrow’s ritual between Sorrow’s people and the Pilgrims commences, sending the lot into a spiraling, orgiastic flurry
-Meanwhile, Setter visits Winkle in Sorrow’s home. Winkle expresses desire to try Yellow, which she has been forbidden to use. Setter convinces her to try it, wishing to garner rapport with her to get into her pants.
-Under the Yellow, Setter experiences a hyper focused state, and realizes that Lizard, Sorrow’s right hand, is moments away from entering the room. Setter flees, leaving Winkle alone with the Yellow. Lizard sees the infraction against Sorrow’s will, and proceeds to beat Winkle viciously.
-At the ritual, Lizard returns, but Sorrow divines his actions and turns the mob against him. Lizard is killed brutally by rock and stick and hand.
